Strategies and Technologies for Communicating Analytical Information

David J. Detlefsen, Jeffrey L. Whitney & Mark E. Hail
Novatia LLC, 301 A College Road East, Princeton, NJ 08540

The last ten years have brought about an industrialization of pharmaceutical research characterized by an accelerated pace, an emphasis on screening and compound production and an across the board pressure to produce results and make decisions faster. One way to increase the efficiency is to generate analytical results more rapidly using new instrumental screening technologies and indeed efforts are already bearing fruit as faster and more sensitive methods have been combined with advances in biology and chemistry to speed the process. However, it is equally as important to ensure that the results produced are captured, integrated and available to the workgroup. As more high-throughput automated analytical methods are developed and deployed, analysts would be well advised to consider how the increased flow of information is used and managed. Towards this end, we will show the capture, communication and integration of analytical results from automated analysis systems, such as our ProMassXcaliTM automated biomolecule analysis software, using content management, web-based reporting and application services.
