Beyond Optimization: Enabling Biology Through Analytical Innovation

Overview:
The theme of this year’s annual meeting “Beyond Optimization: Enabling Biology Through Analytical Innovation” was inspired by the sense of urgency to bring innovative medical therapies to market. This issue was recently addressed in a report issued by the Food and Drug Administration (http:/www.fda.gov/oc/initiatives/criticalpath/whitepaper.html).

CPSA 2005 will address key challenges that face our industry with a specific focus on enabling analytical technology and approaches. The program will feature updated perspectives on “critical path” applications such as bioanalytical, pharmaceutical property profiling, and biomarkers as well as emerging technologies that deal with sample preparation, chromatography, mass spectrometry, and informatics.

The CPSA symposia and roundtables are highly interactive events where opinion leaders share their experiences and visions on chemical and pharmaceutical structure analysis in a collegial setting. The symposia feature comprehensive perspectives on industry-related issues and needs. First-hand experiences with specific applications and technologies are openly discussed. The vendor sessions and poster sessions provide unique opportunities to promote interest and develop sustainable relations.

Goals
This annual event is specifically geared to the needs of researchers attempting to keep pace with faster development times and marketing managers attempting to benchmark emerging trends. The goal is to provide an “incubator” for accelerated drug discovery and development.
