CPSA Digest 2006 |
Shaping the Pharmaceutical Landscape with Engaged Analytical Sciences
Overview:
The ninth Annual Symposium on Chemical and Pharmaceutical Structure Analysis (CPSA 2006)
will highlight the theme: Shaping the Pharmaceutical Landscape with Engaged Analytical
Sciences. Last year’s event brought a spirited technical focus on new analytical technologies
and processes in the areas of biomarker, bioanalytical, structural identification, and
pharmaceutical profiling. The take-home messages clearly indicated that the
pharmaceutical industry is at a crossroad with technology and culture. A
focus on analytical performance benchmarks appeared to be the key endeavors that were
central to sustain analytical support activities
(http://www.milestonedevelopment.com/CPSA/2005/digest2005.html).
This year’s annual meeting will provide a follow up to the progress made
last year; new technologies and processes that positively impact the drug
discovery and development will be highlighted. CPSA 2006 will focus on the
drug discovery/development timeline and the program will be organized
according to the major disciplines in pharmaceutical R&D, namely Discovery
Biology and Chemistry, ADMET, Clinical Development, and Pharmaceutical
Sciences. Each session will highlight the most demanding challenges and the
fastest growing areas in these disciplines. The role of engaged analytical
sciences will be emphasized to better forecast the impact on the pharmaceutical landscape.
The CPSA symposia and roundtables are highly interactive events where
opinion leaders share their experiences and visions on chemical and
pharmaceutical structure analysis in a collegial setting. The symposia
feature comprehensive perspectives on industry-related issues and needs.
First-hand experiences with specific applications and technologies are
openly discussed. The vendor sessions and poster sessions provide unique
opportunities to promote interest and develop sustainable relations.
Goals
This annual event is specifically geared to the needs of researchers
attempting to keep pace with faster development times and marketing managers
attempting to benchmark emerging trends. A goal of this meeting will be to
delineate the importance and urgency of enabling analytical sciences at the
frontier of pharmaceutical R&D.
